Destin, Florida

Our Trip to Destin, Florida. May 2017

I realize I haven't written a new post since last year after Saige was born. I'm not really sure why, I just haven't. Anyhow I wrote this post because I had so many pictures that I wanted to share of our Florida vacation. It was a wonderful 5 days long. It was a little chilly and cloudy the first two days but it cleared up and was perfectly sunny the rest of the time.

We had a lot of fun in Destin. I will share a ton of pictures of all the things that we did!
The first day we explored several different beaches. Some of these photos were taken with my iPhone so they aren't the best.

Next day we walked out to this point. It's actually not as easy to get to as it looks. There was a nice spot by the jetty (rocks) that we stayed at for a while.

A brick wall on the way back from the point that we stopped at for a wind break.

Then we ended the day at Pompano Joe's on the beach!
This is not my picture, just thought I'd share it so you could see what it looks like!

Then we went to a park to watch the sunset.

Next day we went to Henderson Beach Park and set up or canopy.
Little Marlin had so fun playing in the sand!

In the evening we went out on a glass bottom boat. It was not really what we expected. Down in the bottom of the boat there were windows up on the sides but the water wasn't clear enough to see anything. It was fun to see the dolphins but it was a long cruise and honestly got somewhat boring with two kids and it being slightly chilly.

Little Marlin wearing daddy's jacket because it was windy and cool. He was so excited about the boat ride! It is so much fun to watch the delight in your children's eyes when they do new things!

Kind of a weird shot, but pretty neat to capture it as it was coming out of the water.

We also go to see the sunset.

We went to Okaloosa Island Sunday.

Showing off to Saige

Daddy & Little Marlin

Norriego Point. A perfect place for kids.

The last day we rented kayaks and paddled to Crab Island. It is a place in the bay that is about 2 ft deep, and it is a really large area that can accommodate lots of boats and people. They have a few floating bar/grills out there. It is super clear and so much fun to swim there. You can see lots of small crabs crawling in the sand.

On the way back through the East Pass.

So that was our trip. It was so much fun and I wouldn't mind doing it again someday! Destin is a great place to take kids!
